How it Works
- Our Children's Store is open from mid-September through early January each year in a donated retail space.
- Every item purchased benefits children in need in our community.
- Our Children's Store carries a wide variety of unique gifts for all ages, including gourmet food; stationery; toys; gardening items; Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas decorations, cards, ornaments, and gifts; housewares; gifts for pets and pet-lovers; books and calendars; and unique products made by children.
- Overhead costs are underwritten by corporate and foundation support so 100% of the profits from sales are distributed to over 40 local children's organizations.
- Participating agencies invest funds to purchase merchandise for the store, and also contribute unique product made exclusively for or by their agencies. We return the investment plus our profits.
- With the exception of a store manager and assistant manager, Our Children's Store is run entirely by volunteers - who contribute more than 8,000 hours each season.
- Our Children's Store has had several locations in its 16 year history, including the Galleria, the Pearl District, outside Lloyd Center Mall on NE Weidler at 12th, and inside the Lloyd Center Mall.
